Parks in Paris












Great Public Parks were developed in Paris, before 1848 there were 47 acres of Parkland in Paris. Then Emperor Louis-Napoleon opened the private gardens to the  public too, including the Jardin des Plantes and the Luxembourg Gardens.













Le Jardin des Plantes in Paris. It was founded in 1626. It was designed and planted by Guy de La Brosse who was the physician of Louis XIII. When it was first established it was a royal garden of medicinal plants and wasn't open to the public until 1650.

The Luxembourg Gardens was founded by Queen Marie de Medicis in 1612. The Luxembourg is one of the most romantic parks in romantic Paris. It has statues, fountains, flowers, and many attractions for children.
